The challenge

Produce, in four nights, an approx. five-minute narrative loop for a private launch: the physical car in front of a screen, with projection above and around it, for prospective buyers and investors.

The idea

The loop alternates 2D motion graphics explaining the specs with five immersive 3D settings: a forest, a racetrack, a city and two abstract gradient sections.

The magma stand-by

Before the sequence starts, a lava-like particle simulation rests in soft, liquid bursts. When it starts, the particles pick up an aerodynamic flow around the car, as if it were moving and releasing energy. Realtime VFX in Unreal Engine.

My part

I set the art direction of the 3D worlds from the client's brief, built the forest, racetrack, city and the first abstract stand-by, animated the cameras and created the realtime particle VFX in Unreal Engine. I led WeMake staff and subcontracted artists; the 2D motion graphics were made by others.
